Before getting into the deeper studies of Greek Mythology, I had the idea that it was simply a couple of fantastical stories about heroes, magical creatures, and facing unreal challenges. I used to think, oh cool- this guy Zues can shoot lightning bolts, and everything is made out of marble columns. However, after researching this subject for a while, these stories aren't just about imaginary but based off of real-world human struggles and cultures. These ancient tales reveal what the Greeks feared, valued, and how they tried to understand about the world around them. The legends are filled with love, betrayal, heartbreak, jealousy, greed, and other human struggles. They also describe social rules, moral consequences, and the limits of human control. These tales aren't just about fantasy and imaginary magic, but it reflects on the Greek culture and how they viewed the world and conquered its obstacles. Behind every god and legend lies a culture trying to understand itself.
